Als uitgangspunt voor deze nieuwe koeler in de 10X serie heeft Zalman de CNPS10x Quiet genomen. Bij de Flex is het dissipatie oppervlak van het koellichaam echter groter. Fans zijn niet meegeleverd zodat er zelf bepaald worden welk type 120mm fan er op de koeler wordt gebruikt en of er een of twee fans worden ingezet.*

* Bij een goede luchtstroom in de behuizing kan de CNPS10X Flex ook zonder ventilatoren worden gebruikt. De prestaties zijn echter sterk afhankelijk van de luchtstroom en de gebruikte processor.
